Today, we proudly unveiled a beacon of innovation and cultural enrichment—the first sustainable solar piano in Spain, elegantly positioned in Plaza Catalunya, Barcelona. This initiative springs from the collaborative efforts surrounding the 69th Maria Canals International Music Competition, marking a significant stride towards integrating sustainability with the arts.
A heartful acknowledgment to Deputy Mayor Maria Eugènia Gay, whose unwavering support underscored this project. Her vision of Barcelona as a pioneer in cultural richness and sustainable innovation mirrors our ambition.
This solar piano is no ordinary instrument. Designed to withstand the elements, it represents a nexus of technological advancement and environmental stewardship. With its remote-manageable 'smartpiano' features and solar panel integration, this instrument stands as a testament to Barcelona's commitment to innovation, culture, and sustainability.
The inauguration ceremony was a captivating spectacle, featuring performances by Josep Buforn, Beñat Egiarte, and Beatriz Jiménez. Their renditions of classic pieces underscored the piano's potential to create rich, emotional experiences for both performers and audiences alike.
